Chirimen is the Japanese name for the fabric with crimps on the surface (often silk), typically used in kimonos. The art of Chirimen transforms mere scraps of this textured crepe fabric into adorable, hand-sewn pouches and ornaments.
Chirimen takes time and it’s challenging but was so rewarding at the end. Some of the motifs are pretty advanced but the online learning center gives you tips that helps you finish all the motifs really well.
